Cautious T26 URM was throwing out ridiculous arguments the other day for giving AA to wealthy URMs over poor URMs. Coincidentally, he's a wealthy URM beneficiary and is at the bottom of his class.

AA should identify those who are likely to perform better than their scores would indicate. This is usually someone who was at the top of their class from poortown. They scored worse on standardized tests because they received a bad education. A wealthy URM is the last person who should get AA, because if he scores lower than his peers, he's already proven that he's less intelligent than his white peers and there's no reason to think he'll do any better.

T26 URM is relevant to your case because he's a product of the AA system that helped you.

I'm glad you admit that AA has been corrupted by wealthy URMs who don't give a shit about the purported goals of the system. I hope the Roberts court finds it unconstitutional (not too unlikely given their decision in that WA schools case). Until then, I'll just have to be satisfied with states continuing to ban it.

It took me a while to really oppose AA as it exists. But once I got to a good law school and noticed all the URMs were fuckin wealthy and that there were no poors, I realized AA as is is just complete crap.

it's possible that the roberts court could ban AA in private schools. they all receive public money despite being private and giving money to those race discriminating schools could be declared unconstitutional. they would then have to choose between keeping their funding or giving strictly race based AA.

Helping the poor genius doesn't do anything when he has to drop out the second anything goes wrong in his home life. There just isn't enough of a support structure to expect people with unstable backgrounds to thrive in an atmosphere that demands extreme stability for a minimum of three years (realistically 7 counting undergrad).

i got through college and law school on financial aid and scholarships. i never had to drop out, nor would "one family problem" have forced me to drop out. you apply for it each january and there it is. never had any problems with "inflexibility" i didn't even have the benefit of that awesome package that harvard's offering, just the generic handouts.

you probably don't know anything about financial aid because you're rich dumb black kid.

also, i came from a poor as shit background, got into a much better ls than you without racial preferences, and my grades were a whole lot better.

I came from a relatively decent upbrining. i grew up in the same area as a few prominent posters here. i will say i wasn't spoiled.

I did ok on my lsat's but nothing great. i did well in college but to a TTT to play sports.

That said, I can't pinpoint one time in my life where i've received AA.
