Is 37 and 26 too big an age difference?

An attractive, young-looking, personable 38-year-old guy can get many (although not most) girls in that age group. Add money/success to the mix and you expand the pool of girls he can get.
There will be girls who will be turned off by this age difference and no amount of looks or money will sway them otherwise. But there will also be girls who prefer this age difference to dating someone close to their age or slightly younger. |

If the guy isn't particularly attractive or doesn't have many other options he might not have a choice. If the girl is particularly attractive and they get along he might not care about her age, especially if he's looking to settle down.
I've never had problems dating within this age group and neither have any of my friends who are also in this age group. Judging from the comments of the single girls on XO who are also in this age group, it seems like they don't have to "go older" to get dates either. |

Some of us are in relationships. Rowan's dating someone. Rowan also isn't a fan of a large age gap. Adidas has certain commitment issues (from what she tells us) but it doesn't look like she has any problem getting guys. My BF is 28. Of my friends who got married or are getting married in their 30s only 1 is marrying someone 5+ years older. The others are marrying or have married men within 3 years of their age. The other one of my girlfriends who got married in her thirties and is in a 5-year age difference marriage is the older of the two.
I'm not so sure that the quickest path to marital bliss for any of us would be to date in the 37-40 age group. |

I have had a few friends tell me that they prefer older (5+) men for the same reasons that girls here state that they prefer older men. But it's not a universal preference by any stretch. |
