A cal degree has a much better national and international reputation. UCLA also seems like it takes a lot more CC transfers (i'm not sure if the numbers actually support this), which detracts from the quality of the student body.
UCLA is not nearly as fun as you'd expect. It's better than many of the UC's, but many students commute or go home on the weekends and the campus dies. Yeah, it's in LA, but not a particularly cool part of LA.
Davis does have a lot of good programs, but it's location and QOL for students is shit. |

re: Davis: QOL for students is great. not like most of them have the money to be going for models and bottles. they have access to the city 1.5 hours away or great skiing/rafting/snowboarding in tahoe 2 hours away. it definitely is boring most of the time though. |

Also, where you go to UG doesn't really matter much if your goal is law school. I went to a TTT UG (on par with SDSU, SFSU) had a SHITLOAD of fun, got near a 4.0 and ended up at a T6. |

SFSU is shit, pure shit. aside from being a crap school with a shit community and campus, the administration is horrid. it'd be pretty miraculous for you to graduate on time at SFSU nowadays because of their class registration and availability shitstorm. many of my friends couldn't graduate simply because they weren't able to register for basic classes and prereqs.
SDSU is a more plausible choice b/c of the hot ass bitches and great location. i also haven't heard of the administration problems that are rampant at SFSU. however, you're still pretty dumb to choose either over UCD. LOL @ people 1.5 hours from SF a dealbreaker.
also, if you can get a 4.0 at a TTT UG, you can prob get at least a 3.6 at UCD. hard to say b/c UCs practice true grade deflation. |

city is one big mountain, it also smells like urine, too many homeless, impossible to own a car/bad traffic, dangerous to bike (also #1 in pedestrian accidents)you live right next to oakland, apartments mostly old and insanely expensive
smalltown feel, relatively decent public transit (getting worse bc of budget cuts), can take BART to any place in bay area (ie bars in SF)
I personally hate the QOL here and should have gone to ucla |
