Yeah. Listening to Funeral now. It rules. Don't like Neon Bible nearly as much as The Suburbs, though.

The Suburbs is mediocre, but MPP is horrendous garbage. I can't think of a single album I'd rate lower than MPP.

MPP is kind of perfect for kids who grew up in the suburbs but want to romanticize their existince and imagine they're in touch with some deeper or exotic meaning in their lives.

All Arcade Fire albums seem to aspire to that, but they're a little on the nose for me.

lol, EDGY and cool.

The bands ITT have nothing in common with 80's post-punk and hardcore, though.

Wire, Meat Puppets, Husker Du, Minutemen, etc...what else you like bro? Also, Second Edition is great but I never liked the other PiL records.

Edit: these bands write heartfelt, universal songs. This is like saying Bruce Springsteen is musical AIDS...pick on the real offenders, like ANY latter-day "punk rock" band, all of rap-rock, any band on the fucking vans warped tour, all of emo (REAL emo).

Arcade Fire is 100x better live than AC though.

I saw AC at Lolla last year and they were shit. A couple of nerds standing there behind keyboards and computers. Dan Deacon otoh, was fantastic, and definitely set the bar for how to flesh out that sort of electronic music in a live setting.
