Performing a Buffy:

1) Stab in the heart with a wooden stake, or anything wooden and remotely sharp (pencils, sign posts, pieces of wooden furniture - it's amazing how much wood vampires keep in their lair.)

2) Throw them into the sun, or break open a window.

3) Cut their freakin' heads off.

4) Trick them into drinking holy water.

she doesn't do anything with crosses or holy anything, as I recall. and definitely not garlic, that's just not her style.

I believe most deaths were caused by fire (sunlight and just fire), some by being cut up into little pieces

I met a guy who thought he was a vamp of the Anne Rice mold. The sight of him drinking a Frappuccino and whistling "Master of the House" was more disturbing than his frilly getup.

In the Ann Rice books, most of the vampires in the books that i have read are killed by being lit on fire. Apparently they are like really flammable and will light up big time if set on fire and will burn into nothing. The sun kills them. Possibly cutting off the head and burning the body, but I don't remember that. And some of the vampires (Marius, Lestat, the Queen, Thorn etc) can kill other vampires with some thing called the Mind Gift, where they make the younger vampires explode. Some of them use swords against each other, but I can't recall anyone getting killed that way.
