Subject: What makes it?

Obviously fewer hours and less pay have a lot to do with it...

But how many fewer hours? <2000?

How much less pay? 80-120k?

Does market location play a role?

Depends on what you define as midlaw.

Places like Howard and Rice in San Francisco pay market, do biglaw quality work, and expect biglaw billable.

Places like Dykema in Chicago do not pay market, does biglaw type of work but not necessarily quality, and may or may not expect biglaw billable.

So, give us some names of the firms you have in mind.

Most of these are not midlaw, in particular Womble Carlyle, Nelson Mullins and McKenna all require biglaw billables and slightly lower pay.

You are listing the premier firms in a lot of third-tier cities with small legal markets -- I think if you want true midlaw you need to look at second tier firms in larger markets where the firm will not be hired for the local bet-the-company litigation.

Inb4 earl shows up crying like a bitch bc he bills 2100 hrs and thinks his firm should ask less for "midlaw". Lol at a due diligence faggot who didn't do any dilligence before taking his offer.
