Eh, whatever. So I've got 2 midterms this week--I haven't gotten a B since sophomore fall (knock on wood) and I don't plan to start again now. I'm skipping Homecoming to go to DC this weekend and visit my Keith Drunken debauchery can happen any weekend, but this one's reserved for us.
I'm so happy I have Keith...as it turns out, after almost 9 years of playing the field (since my first 'boyfriend,' John, in 7th grade) what I really needed all along was an older, more mature guy--As in someone who doesn't just sit on their ass in their frat house, get drunk on cheap beer, play Xbox, order EBA's and call it a fucking day. Someone who doesn't need the bonds of pointless fraternal alchoholism to feel like a man nor to form 'leagues' of so-called "fine men" to act like one.
Freshman year, wide-eyed, wonder-filled, and naive, I respected them for forming such strong, unwavering, faithful friendships that seemed to strengthen themselves and each other. Today, 3 years later, I'm able to see beyond that into their dark pits of low self esteem, lack of true confidence, and utter codependence. I've watched some/most of them straddle the line of depression as their pretenses of happiness wither away into late night drunken phone calls and attempted grasps of what they can't have. Similarly, my respect for them has rotted into pity and marginal disgust.
Today I reserve my respect, and ultimately love, for someone who truly deserves them. I love Keith for his personal strength and unpretensious intelligence, for his ambition and perseverence, for his honesty and integrity, and most of all for his kind and open heart. Sure he has his faults (the only person in the world who's more stubborn than me), but all in all, he is perfect...for me.
It's been almost 9 months, most of which has been long distance, but it's been worth everything, and has been a thousand times more fulfilling than a so-called 'relationship' on campus. As someone observant once said, a relationship that starts in a basement rarely goes far beyond it.

Ok so it's been a while since I updated...and now, the week before finals, seems like a perfect time to procrasti--catch up
If you haven't heard already, yes, it's true, I am actually ENGAGED I know. Before Keith, my longest relationship didn't make it past the three month mark. And who can forget my gluttonous freshman year...and not on food
But alas, just like I retired my pom poms last weekend, it's time to hang up my inapporpriately short skirts and come-fuck-me heels. Because by nothing short of a miracle, I've found a (half) Asian boy who's 6'3, shares my sense of humor and my love of Law and Order SVU, cooks and cleans up after me, wants to teach me tennis and golf, knows how to play Chinese poker and use chopsticks, and loves my parents.
And has the good taste to say it with Tiffany's:
We spent a lovely weekend at the Ritz in DC, and as we left the restaurant, the hostess called me Mrs. Perry. I think that's when it sunk in--scary, but in a good way
In other news, I'm just about done with law school apps--and about a month away from either indescribable bliss or suicidal tendencies. I chose not to apply to any safety schools...so if anyone has a way of feeding me next year, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone. I’m really glad everyone is finding out more about my favorite law school discussion board, xoxo. I’m so proud to be part of such a prestigious board but I think I’ve earned it. I got a 1540 on the SAT, went to Dartmouth for undergrad, and I’m a 1L at Penn now! T14, baybeeee! Pretty soon I’ll be earning the big bucks at a prestigious law firm. Not bad for a girl who immigrated from China and was a huge nerd in high school!
My life is so much more stable now that I’ve found my boy, Keith. Back in Hanover freshman year, I found I attracted a lot of attention from the boys. (In the summer after HS, I lost a lot of baby fat and filled out to a 5'8" 36-25-36 bombshell.) I might have gotten acquainted with a few too many boys in that first year, but it was worth it. I’m really lucky that Keith is hapa. I used to think Azn boys were sexless, but if you mix a little white in, they’re okay!
Anyway, toodles! I’m off to iron my face.
