As originally conceived, the use of (Rudolph) was a designation for a prediction that was sure to be wrong. This was usually most common for sports but also extended to politics, world events, etc.

The fundamental transformation of (Rudolph) occurred in the early 2010 classic thread from TNSJ, "that chick rockin kicks is probably from around here (rudolph)."[FN1]

Note that derivative from the Miley Cyrus song, in its context, Cyrus is parroting the thoughts of bystanders judging her based upon her appearance. But here, Rudolph is understood to extend beyond simply a misjudged prediction, but a kind of cumulative misjudgment of the human persona. Acclaim followed.

Now, the bifurcation of the (Rudolph) meme here is critical. TNSJ's movement toward a meme in which Rudolph would be mocked for all errors of judgment, not merely predictive errors, was misinterpreted by later meme artists. Instead, they saw the errors of judgment solely as errors in toto, which quickly devolved into all errors of the operation of the world.

This, of course, overlaps in many respects with the (Rasqie) meme, but that, too, is unfair for the breadth. While (Rudolph) is now regularly mocked for flat or frank misstatements, errors of all sorts, the original (Rasqie) meme retains the particularly distinct flavor of errors for an individual who lacks any common sense or awareness of surroundings. For instance, it may well be amusing to mock Rudolph for saying "there is try," or "use the x-wing's computer guidance system, luke," but those, particularly the latter, are generally errors of judgment or belief. For (Rasqie), when an individual posts something so frankly obvious to the known posting world, or perhaps even to the greater real world, and she expresses confusion over even the most basic of human concepts (cf. Askav's tale of the gorilla circa October 2011 [FN2]), we approach a new dimension of incredulity, one even Rudolph cannot match, because as his errors are predominantly ones of judgment, Rasqie lacks the capacity to engage in judgment at all.
