I can do about 10 pushups, 15 dumbbell lunges (with 15 lb. weights...only ones I have), and maybe half a pullup.

6 months of dedication, you could get jacked as fuck without a gym. MWF do this routine. It may seem devilishly simple, but being fit isn't that tough if you want it.

Pushups - Do 1 pushup then 2 then 3, all the way up to 15. If you can't do 15 (or fewer) straight, that's fine. Just do the pushups, and try and get through that 15th set as fast as possible (that's what will keep you progressing)

Pullups - Just keep fucking trying. Do jumping pullups to build strength and rep a few out. You will look ridiculous for awhile; that's ok. If you find yourself getting really good at these, put on a backpack with 10lbs (it makes a huge difference)

Squats - Do an absolute shit ton of air squats. You can toss in some lunges too. Feel free to work in the 15 pound weights, but air squats alone will put on muscle mass.

Clean up your diet. Sure, plenty of folks will call flame, but I don't give a fuck. You do these three exercises and watch what you eat (cut the carbs), you can have one of those crazy ass transformations in 6 months--guaranteed.

Just to clarify:

For pushups, are you saying to do 15 sets (1 on the 1st set, 2 on the 2nd, etc.) for a total of 120 pushups each MWF?

Air squats to failure?

The other stuff looks good. My main thing is to keep it simple so I stay motivated.

these are called 15 count. It's a common tactic. first set, do 1. second set, do 2. then go up the ladder. eventually it starts "down ladder" at 15 down to 14, so on.

PIP's got it right. I was not familiar with the technical term, but I was skinny as fuck when I graduated high school. A summer of doing the "15 count" got me a pretty legit chest. Admittedly, I think I hit a second growth spurt that summer, but I can vividly remember not being able to do 10 pushups straight in high school, so there's hope for all of us.

Air squats to failure will be fine. Feel free to toss the dumbbells in your hands and do the squats holding the dumbbells in front of your shoulders--it will make a surprising difference in difficulty.

CR. Depending how far you are from a respectable amount of fitness, diet could contribute as much as 80% to your get-fit effort. (The leaner/fitter you get, the more it is all about the gym time.)

There are a lot of gymless S+C programs out there; Ross Enamait is one I've seen a lot of people swear by, although his stuff usually requires a couple pieces of equipment (usually cheap stuff you can make yourself).

While a gym is great and gives you lots of different options and space, not having access to one shouldn't be an impediment to getting in shape. Just do prison workouts:

To get your muscles toned, do pushups, situps, and lunges. You should vary these exercises for best results. For example, you should be doing regular pushups, but also change it up by doing them on an incline or decline, and try clapping pushups as well for plyometrics (you might have to work up to these). With situps, do regular situps, but also do twisting situps, situps with legs in the air, alternating legs, etc.

To burn fat and improve your cardiovascular health, jog a couple miles, three times per week. If you can't do this, do something that looks retarded but since it is in the privacy of your apartment, it doesn't matter, like doing jumping jacks or jogging in place while you watch tv.

Guarantee you will see results within weeks, but you have to put in the work. Keep track of your numbers. Don't just be content that you do some pushups every day. Do as many as you can, write it down, and try and improve next time.

I'm kinda anti situps, because I think they make people think they've done more work than they have. I have an 8-pack, and rarely target my core specifically. I'm not saying core work is bad, but I'd rather see you use those 15 minutes to do more pullups and pushups (which are going to hit your core AND loads of other muscles).

Just remember that a little exercise and a great diet will get you far better results than a lot of exercise and a mediocre diet. Most of your calories should come from high-quality natural protein sources (ideally animal sources, IMO, but others disagree) and high-quality vegetables.

Doing pushups, pullups and air squats - even a very moderate amount - on top of a disciplined diet will get the job done more quickly than you think.

Don't really need a gym to start getting in decent shape. Eat healthy, cardio at least 3-4 times per week, pushups and situps or buy barbells. Your dedication and commitment will be what gets you in shape not access to a gym.
