I am early 30s and I'd rather settle down with a woman around my age, and there are plenty around my age who haven't fallen apart. If I find a mature chick in her early/mid 20s, even better, but it's not necessary. Being able to talk with a woman is paramount. I'm pretty sure my views are normal.
I'm not saying there aren't some 180 local women, but in light of the language and cultural barrier I'd rather stick to my own kind. All of this strong preference for local talent smacks of "she's hotter and has lower standards", which is just perfect for insecure betas I guess. |

From personal experience, the one thing that makes relationships with people from other countries different is that you're from two completely different cultures. It's not just baseball versus cricket (although having a common cultural frame of reference is an underrated predictor).

If I moved to Hong Kong (where I visited my friend) I would be completely indifferent between a hot expat chick and a hot local chick who was from a wealthy family and was educated abroad somewhere like Duke or Wellesley and has the same career path as the expat chicks. I don't think I would consider dating a local chick of middle class (local middle class, not American middle class) origin who never left.
Never been to E. Europe. I know that MGU is a kickass school but I still don't know how much I would have in common with an educated girl who never left the country.
As for career versus family, I prefer a girl who focused on her career when she was younger but will devote that same focus to her family when she has kids. The time to focus on your family is not when you're fresh out of college and are unmarried and childless. |
