http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marx%27s_theory_of_alienation

Alienation (Entfremdung) is the systemic result of living in a socially stratified society, because being a mechanistic part of a social class alienates a person from his and her humanity. The theoretic basis of alienation within the capitalist mode of production is that the worker invariably loses the ability to determine his or her life and destiny, when deprived of the right to think (conceive) of himself as the director of his actions; to determine the character of said actions; to define their relationship with other people; and to own the things and use the value of the goods and services, produced with their labour. Although the worker is an autonomous, self-realised human being, as an economic entity, he or she is directed to goals and diverted to activities that are dictated by the bourgeoisie, who own the means of production, in order to extract from the worker the maximal amount of surplus value, in the course of business competition among industrialists.

Fairy accurate, no?

Accurate, but obvious.

Elites push the mass of society around and the masses, for a mixture of reasons (dumb, lack of privilege, lack of leaders, barriers put up intentionally and maybe even unintentionally by the elites) simply can never rise up.

Yeah, but without the alienation/addiction paradigm of the internet/videogames and the commodification of sexual/interpersonal relationships, this is basic-bitch-level scholarship.

What are you talking about? Historically, there was polygamy and 20% of the men did take 80% of the women, it's because of capitalism, that low-class garbage women end up taking their male counterparts, instead of becoming a concubine for a harem.

No, what happened before is that chad and his bro would have been feudal lords, and would have married or taken concubines of a couple of dozen of those girls, and the rest would only be left for only a few of their highest-ranking subordinates at best.

Polygamy was feudalism, it occurred during the middle ages as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygamy_in_Christianity#Middle_Ages

It ended once the beta bourgeoisie usurped control from the traditional alpha warrior-aristocracy, and implemented monogamy to get better access to women, so that alphas wouldn't take them all.

I don't understand this. Help?

It seems to me to just be inaccurate and primitive as opposed to saying that we've designed products that provide short term neurological stimulation, but that destroy long-term happiness and joy. (i.e. the "Alpha dude: something awesome; u: poast" meme)

And then just moving that capitalism/short-term thinking to private relationships as women gained the freedom to be as stupid as men.

Because you yourself are looking at the picture through a rationalized marginal viewpoint, based on sociology, which is a marginalist-derived fraud of an ideology. Marx analyzed the picture objectively.

and i'm still puzzling through if it has any meaning other than 'economic models are shitty and simple' which i already knew/believed.

It's the economic understanding of marginal utility that developed into sociology, you're looking through a socio-economic framework based on those shitty models.

Political Economy, a comprehensive analysis, was always more accurate.
