the girls i meet through expats generally know my upbringing, but they are usually expats themselves or Chinese that lived abroad, so its no big deal either way.

From business/career pov top companies don't care about your TTT NC state or UT-Arlington degree. There are tons of FOB Asians/Indians who have returned home with US education so unless you have some elite credentials it doesn't matter for top companies in Tier 1 cities
Once you move outside top cities/social circles or elite business circles in these cities then being Asian-American definitely has an edge

In reality, if you have to know, the reason I have turned down this shameful path is because at every turn in my life, I have found myself thwarted by Asian males who are simply my betters--professionally, personally, and yes, even (especially) romantically.
