1. A big city in Malaysia so either KL or Penang
2. Some other area in Malaysia like Perehentian Islands (never been)
3. Jakarta, Indonesia then go to some area nearby like I think it's callled Ten Thousand Islands
4. Bali (been 4-5 times) and then maybe go to Gili or Flores

Among those options, go to Penang and then trek cross-peninsula and go to the Perhantians
Malaysia is the most underrated travel destination in Asia
KL kind of bites after a day

Then go to Penang, hang out in Georgetown for a bit, and Batu Feringi beaches for a bit
That is the lazy option, and it is perfectly credited
Fuck I love eating in Malaysia

1 have you been to Penang recently? Georgetown is getting really tarted up, it's different to a few years ago. Nice place to hang
2. Langkawi also very good option, I considered suggesting
3. Eat eat eat

maybe nigga maybe but it looks like flight is as much to there as to bali
September to October is the rainy season in Langkawi and this is the period which most tourists like to avoid. But the fact is even during the rainy season, it rains only for about 2 hours a day but usually in the late afternoon and at night. So you do get enough dry time and sunshine during the day (about 6 to 7 hours on an average). September is also one the coolest months with average temperature around 27°C.

I have been to all of those places too. I have lived in one of them.
North Korea is not remotely comparable. It is literally insane.
Bump this thread after you have been.

The way I see Bali, it's overcrowded, overpriced, the traffic is horrific and there are way too many tourists. Beyond that, none of the beaches are even that nice. Granted I haven't taken the 6+ hour drive to the most remote parts of the island, but the beaches near anything you'd want to do at night are pretty TTT. On top of that, if you want to go out boozing, like I know you do, you pretty much have to stick to Kuta or Seminyak and the alcohol prices are fucking ABSURD, and none of the bars are anything special.
