Date: November 28th, 2005 5:47 AM Author: Drunken area I went to Carlton with Mike Church, whom I understand goes by the fictitious "schtick" name "pensive" here...I know him indirectly from my Ambition league and intersection between my and his circle of friends. So while I can't say we were "best frineds," I believe I possess more evidence on which to base an opinion than anyone who only knows him through his "schtick." While it could be said that Mike is sometimes aloof and occasionally intellectually dismissive and abrupt with those who do not keep up with him, he is for the most part a pretty regular, chill person. As I am sure has been explained here, there was a pretty sickening incident during what was his Freshman year, in which his reputation was basically raped and he was stalked without justification. When this incident was adjudicated at Carlton, my understanding is that Mike was cleared of *all* wrongdoing, and it was conclusively proven that this harrassment/stalking was initiated by "lose-fucker" (in Mike's unforgettable, favorite "schtick" phrase) girls, and *all* of said girls were in the bottom 30% of the class or classes to which they belonged. (I don't know the details, just the general facts that tended to be known on a relatively "insular" campus, where gossip can be the coin of the realm during a long winter.) Jealousy (of a pretty accomplished student) was the motive, no doubt.
I really don't have a "dog in this fight" ... But friends who are interested in law school brought to my attention that someone from Carlton was taking a lot of bull&#@% here, and I thought I could help to set the record straight, in the interest of basic fairness. What you see here is defanatly "schtick, and a rembrance of people at my college trying tyo "paint" Mike a certain (untrue) way as part of an agenda that is a text book case of jealousy. As I believe it is the custom to offer here as a valediction: hope this helps ("HTH").
EDIT: I go most of my info. on the goings on here from the "thread" in which it was suggested that Mike/"pensive" was pretending to be a person from upper class pedigree. I can confirm that Mike/"pensive comes from no such milieu, and would have no way of knowing the intracacies and nomenclatures of that world... OK, back to my own world... |
