Say what you will about his other policies, but I dont see how you can bitch about the economy.

Despite market scandals, terrorist attacks, wars, the country's worst natural disasters, global instability, coming into office during a recession, and a fundamentally changing economy, its still rolling along with growth at 4.3%

Too bad this "boom" doesn't translate into most people actually making more money than before. But hey, as long as Steve Forbes' investments do well this year, that's much more important than the fortunes of ordinary people, huh?

It's not our fault that you're too stupid and irresponsible to prepare for the future by investing. Anyone who owns a broad market index fund will benefit from economic growth. It's idiots like you who rely upon government handouts who run the risk of getting into financial trouble.

Yes, Bill Gates made a fortune by flipping burgers in Wendy's and investing lefovers of his minimal wage into DJIA.

What does making a fortune have to do with this? Surely you're not arguing that redistribution should aim to make everyone as wealthy as Bill Gates.

*rolling eyes*

Middle aged burger flippers are hardly normal middle class Americans to begin with, but there's no doubt that the difference between the burger flipper's financial planning under Bush is no different than it was under Clinton.

"Normal middle class Americans" have very little if any investment savings, and what little they do have has done quite crappily since Bush took office.

HTH.

about 60% of households participate in the stock market (mostly through retirement vehicles).

republicans would like the rest of americans to participate as well (through social security personal accounts), but the libs won't let that happen. Thanks, Dems!!!

Plus total stock market indexes are lower than they were when Dubya took office, but thanks for playing.

Most pundits agreed that the market was going to decline....and this was when CLinton was still president. The tech crash actually occurred while he was still in office.

this revisionist history is wrong - the blue chips didn't crash until right around the day of W's inauguration. that's when we all realized that he really IS that stupid.
