institutions (including the presidency), governance, etc. all that shit doesnt matter for SHIT if a nation ceases to exist. we had a shitty president, sure. but i rest well at night because i know my neighbors arent going to explode themselves in a mall or fly a plane into a building because they are all extended kin.
