If you put the pieces together, he was already well into his criminal career in Brownsville before he knocked someone out in the street. And he was picked on and teased before that. He always had a strong self conscious and was introverted. He admitted that every ring entrance he made coming up as an amateur and then as a pro, he was scared. He got caught for robberies and burglaries and spent a lot of time in juvie. He was the guy in the robbery who would fumble the gun or hesitate to pull the trigger. So I don't think he bodied anyone. And his neck was stocky, his whole body was stocky. That was essentially the reason Cus took interest in him. He was shocked by his physique, and knew he could make him a champion. Mind you, his trainer Cus was an old guy, he didn't even work corners for Mike. But he taught him everything he knew. And Cus was Floyd Patterson's trainer who was the world heavyweight champion at one point. Patterson was another smaller guy like Mike, and if you watch video of him he fights with the same style.
