There are only 7 days left until the SNES Classic Edition is released on 2017/09/29.
Little Mac is back on the attack! You fight from "behind the back" of Mac while you fast track your way through to the Special Circuit bracket. From Bear Hugger the Canadian lumberjack to a fun game of Time Attack, you'll smack your opponents like a maniac.
Flashback to 1994, seven years after Little Mac knocked out Mike Tyson in shorts of black. There was a distinct lack of quality boxing games to attract players. Looking to make an impact, the crack team of Nintendo IRD, responsible for games like StarTropics and eventually hardware like the N64 Rumble Pak, decided to take a whack at a new boxing game...Super Punch-Out!!
Although it's packed with action, it does, in fact, have its flaws. The soundtrack is stale and fails to pack a punch. Each round is generally the same track, but it remains in the background and doesn't detract from the action.
Sixteen opponents are jam-packed into 4 circuits. If Mac loses a match, he can use a continue and mount a comeback. Progress can be saved, as the cartridge has RAM that is battery-backed.
When I was young, many a night were spent trying to get the exact pattern down for each fighter so that I could send Dragon Chan and Super Macho Man to the mat. Pick up a controller and see how you stack up against the pack.
There is only one week left to take this poll where you will rank the games on the NA/EU SNES Classic. Remember, the results will be revealed on 9/29 when the system is released.
