5 power five champs + 3 wildcards = perfect, imo. No one would ever be able to bitch. Any p5 left out would have no room to bitch cause they should have won their conference. 3 wildcards ensures UCF type teams get a shot. I'd even be OK with a requirement that one wildcard be reserved for a non-p5 (and non-ND) team. And 8 keeps it exclusive enough for every regular season game to remain high stakes (unlike FCS style 24 teams) |
