TV channels control what happens on air from the get go. Twitter acts effectively as a public space because it does not curate content before it is released. TV, publications, radio, publications, etc. do not because they determine who gets to speak and usually what they are allowed to say before allowing them to use the platform. The only censorship social media platforms should engage in should extent to which government regulates speech within a public space.
As far as I know Gab doesn’t ban people for expressing leftist views. If it does, it should not be allowed to. |

But I suppose you could do an objective test where you look to determine whether it could be used to serve that function and say to the company "ok, to the extent that your service is going to be used for that purpose, here are the rules."

What we are attempting to do is to expand on the concept of freedom of speech and establish it as a civil right that social media platforms have to respect. |
