Speaker for the Dead is the most grown up of the books but Enders Game is the most fun. The rest are trash with Deus Ex Machinas (including a literal god like computer mind) popping up every few minutes to resolve impossible situations. The whole series in total does a solid job of pissing on religion though. Card had the opposite intention but its hard to not come away thinking faith is absurd retard level shit after reading Xenocide.

Doesn’t Ender eventually become an alien apologist on some foreign planet?

But of course. And everyone's a catholic in the last few books so you get lots of chapters about the joys of Catholicism.

I quit at Xenocide.

Bean books are popular but IMO pretty stupid. My favorite Card novel is Treason.

impressive, I could barely slog through the first.

Start on the Hyperion Cantos next. Then Ilium and Olympos.

Brother, it's me you are talking to. I literally named my kid for someone in the Hyperion Cantos. I have read every book in the Cantos 3 times.

I think I finished the series listening to the audiobooks years ago. I recall SFTD and COTM being slogs. The first two are my favorites - have listened to both at least twice.
