2. Trump has collapsed with college educated white suburban voters, and he needs to win back some of them to win re-election and to save the Senate and regain the House. This is the group where Trump underperformed the most relative to Romney.
3. Trump's Orlando rally was simply a repeat of prior rallies. He needs to sharpen his message going forward. There are several aspects he should focus on. First, he should reframe the immigration message from one of crime to one of economics, as the latter is a much more powerful and relevant argument to voters. He needs to argue that illegal immigration and mass legal immigration of unskilled workers drive down wages of working class Americans and are a burden on public resources. Second, he needs to reframe the trade war against China and the tariffs as a form of economic nationalism, that China is our greatest threat and that we need to bring the supply chains back to the U.S. to make us more prosperous. Third, he should explicitly lay forth what will happen if the Democrats' socialist agenda gets a victory. Talk about losing private insurance, higher taxes and regulations, small businesses getting crushed, open borders, loss of religious freedom. |

The GOP has been telling us to ignore Trump's dismal approval ratings for three years now, and where has that gotten them, aside from the obvious career reasons, I'm very excited about the life-changing social opportunities and experiences. I currently live in a city where I know virtually no one, my good friends all moved out, and my work is filled with older married people. So the the prospect of spending 2 years partying, traveling, and networking with smart like-minded and interesting people, just seems awesome.
Here's my question. If I don't get in, what steps can I do to improve my social life? Is it possible to duplicate the amount of fun you can have in b-school without going to one? It seems like unless you're extremely rich and work for yourself, b-school is the most fun any of us will ever have. |
