but you can still find one white man (if gay, if jewish) in almost every agency.
My hit rate on white men has been like 4/50. When I queried based on genre, independent of demographics, my hit rate was like 0/150.

why even fund something new and creative
like everyone above wrote, you have to not only make the movie / book yourself, you have to get a big audience and then carry that to the publisher/distributer, customers already in hand. If there is enough cash ready for deposit, they will hold their nose that it comes from white supremacists.
which means the only ones who break through will indeed by relentless self-promoters with massive salesmen energy. Their "books" could just as easily be vitamin supplements

If I had to do it again, I would at the very least query under a vaguely ethnic-sounding pen name. you will eventually have to give it up, likely even before publishing, but if the work is good you only need eyes on your pages at the query stage, which you won't get as a white guy |

one of my cousins is my age mid 40's married to a shrew wife, but otherwise is a chill dude. quit his management job as engineer at Samsung to buy and run an HVAC biz. but anyway he knows i wrote some things. we got drunk and he was telling me all about this novel he is writing that is a period piece McCarthy style book. i didn't have the heart to tell him it will never find a publisher or audience. he is a smart dude and i don't know his quality of writing, but that is the reality. |

i wrote a couple of spec scripts when younger, and did the project greenlight and several more spec script competitions years back. got very positive responses, but now i have given up, really.

I would commit to paying myself only 50k per year and using all other funding to employ good agents and building a distribution infrastructure and web presence.
I would name the damn house Exeunt Books or Gatormo or XOXOHTH or whatever anyone wanted. |
