Date: December 6th, 2006 1:25 PM Author: nighttime territorial sweet tailpipe Dragos is a seafood joint away from downtown... they started the bbq oyster phenomenon that is on nearly every menu in town down there now. the food is good, the bbq oysters are one of the best things to eat in the city, and the owner is a good guy. he gave away thousands of meals after katrina to anyone who showed up at his restaurant. it's already one of my fave places to eat in new orleans, but he deserves my tourist $$ just for that alone.
Crabby Jacks is a dive sandwich shop west of Tulane. It's owned/operated by the owner of Jacques-Imos, and several of the items on that menu show up here. They do a slow roast duck po boy that is as ridiculous as it sounds, and the greatest chicken wings I've ever tasted. I get the duck po boy, wings, and a side of jamabalaya and then eat until I can't move. |
