the same is not true for Ukraine. they don't have as many men to do that. they are too western to do that.

They have 3x the population but Ukraine is armed to the teeth and it’s clear that playing defense in modern warfare is way easier than offense. I’m guessing that ultimately the war “ends” in some decade long stalemate where every now and then pockets of fighting erupts. Eventually the politics in either Russia or Ukraine will change to such an extent that people will forget what the conflict was really even about. The war seems to be driven almost entirely by Putin. Poland surged to the top of NATO's spending charts this year, with the alliance's latest forecast showing it pouring 3.9% of gross domestic product into military goals, almost twice NATO's current 2% target.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Warsaw has ordered 250 U.S.-made Abrams tanks, hundreds of Chunmoo rocket launchers, K2 tanks, K9 self-propelled howitzers, and FA-50 fighter aircraft from South Korea as well as Lockheed Martin Corp's (LMT.N), opens new tab HIMARS rocket launchers.
They also bought 32 F-35s and are considering another 32.
