2019, two years of practice, I worked at a national ID firm in a HCOL+ area: 1900 minimum for $75k. Never again.

Currently making $90k with a 2200 hour requirement in South Florida. Despite that, my office is 10 minutes from my house and a decently positive culture so I’ve stuck it out and have been at it for a little over a year. Recently came to the realization that I should’ve explored further and asked more questions about the realities of a high billing requirement before taking this job. On top of that I find the subject matter so mind-numbingly, insanely boring. I’m taking the fact that this post was made today a sign because I feel like I reached a breaking point today. Spent the whole day on this sub and doing research on other areas of law. I know I need a change have no idea where to go from here 🥲

My 2nd year of practice in 2017. 75k for 2250 billable. South Florida Palm Beach County. Holiday bonus was $100. $500 monthly bonus if I billed 207.5 hours.

Associates lasted 12-18 months maximum

being a low-level lawyer in florida sounds miserable. low pay, abusive bosses, lots of dumbs and poors as clients, etc.
