i certainly don't think guys should cheat or leave their wife. only that age isn't a huge factor for women until a certain point. you're right that men often do overestimate their SMV when they're married thinking it'll be the same if they got divorced. a lot of women are interested in them *because* they're married, and will lose interest once you're they're not and/or demonstrate their lack of loyalty by getting divorced for no good reason.
