As I was eating my hotdog, an Indian woman and her two daughters sat down. They didn't ask whether I was waiting for someone. I was. I finish my hotdog and I'm enjoying my soda. All of a sudden, this Indian guy comes out of nowhere and starts yelling at me, telling me to leave. I explain that I'm still enjoying my soda and also waiting for someone. And that his wife and children sat down without asking me. He screams, "You're lying!" and "I'm going to speak to the manager!" I sit there chilling. Manager comes over, chungus Latina. I explain the situation. She looks catatonic/indifferent. A table next to us opens up and the Indian family moves over. A minute later, my mom and dad come over with a full pizza, they sit down, and we enjoy our meal together.

1. Scout the store and determine things that you may want to buy there. A good 80-90% of the stuff at Costco’s is pretty much always available. Pay attention to prices.

2. Go early around when they open and before mid-day and only get what you have on your short list. I don’t even try to get meat there anymore unless I’m looking for something like leg of lamb or those lamb knuckle chop things. Some people go and get a fuck ton of ground beef though because they have an extra freezer.

3. Get in. Get out.

4. Gas is a good deal usually, but I wouldn’t wait for a pump.

5. You still have to go to the grocer store. Basically any item except maybe like paper products or cleaning solution that is on advertised sale at the grocery store will be cheaper than Costco’s. Because of this, meat quality, price and packaging is better at the local grocer.

coupon clipping and enduring multiple grocery stores is a bridge too far even for a frugal guy like me. although disco has a whole family so maybe it's worthwhile.

i like costco because you're guaranteed to always get a good price because they cap the markup they will put on an item. part of the appeal is not having to shop around to avoid getting ripped off.
