I think she's sensitive to criticism. A poster kept calling her boring, and that might've caused her to reexamine her XOXO posting habit.

I recall her saying that she would like to replay the entire Baldur's Gate saga, starting with Baldur's Gate I. Expect her back here in about 4 months.

The three pantaloons easter egg is probably the only thing that I have not completed in that entire series of games, adventurer.

Oh, there are multiple ones? Now I'm going to have to replay when I do finish (not that I'm that close, I'm still hunting for my journal).

I'll be around once in awhile, if only for book and game recs. This place is good for those.

Ok, I'll keep my eyes open and will try to get a good one at least. Good idea on their part, makes things more interesting and realistic. I wasn't sure what I thought about having to play a specific person, but the other characters in the game more than make up for it (combat doesn't seem as good as baldur's gate, but the dialogue and cool species are more than cool enough to make up for it and it is nice to have quests that aren't related to violence).

Planescape: Torment is the only RPG I am aware of that puts so little emphasis on combat. It is one of the things that makes this game a critical hit with me.

I just like how...different...it is. The setting isn't like anything I've read about or seen in movies before, and it's interesting that there seem to be some philosophical threads in the story.

Anyway, thanks for the rec. I'll do the whole Baldur's Gate again, but it's nice to take some time to play other things. I also got the Star Wars game, and I might give that a run through before I go back to elves and gnomes.

Do you mean Knights of the Old Republic? I am somewhat ambivalent concerning that title, although I do have to admit that it is about 44D6 times more playable than Neverwinter Nights.

Yeah, I picked up that one.

I'd like to finish Neverwinter at some point, but I can't really get used to the henchman system. It seems sort of dumb. 6 or 4 or whatever is artificial too, but at least I could understand that a group of people setting out on an adventure would need to limit their numbers because it's too hard to make decisions in a party of 50000000 or because they didn't want to divide the loot too many ways. It's hard for me to think of a reason a rational person would keep their party so small that they couldn't have both a cleric and a thief in it at the same point, which is what the Neverwinter system seems to do.

Eh, I didn't make it through the first animal quest, if that tells you something about how irritated I got with the thing. Still, I'm kind of committed to the idea of giving it a fair shot on the possibility that it gets better (the same way I try to read books at least halfway through before deciding they suck).

If you've played more of the game than me and can assure me that it doesn't improve, I might reconsider in light of your higher Wisdom stat.

I recall finishing the entire first area and (possibly) the entire second area, adventurer. It did not get better. I can say nothing else.

The game also had no story whatsoever. It reminded me of Diablo II, but was not nearly as fun as even that game.

Sigh, that's too bad. And it's a long time before that dragon game comes out.

EDIT: Then again, I have 3 whole games I haven't finished yet, and I know Torment is fun and have every reason to believe BG1 will also be fun, so it's not like I'm deprived at the moment.

Bioware's website says it's developing an RPG called Dragon Age, which will use a party system, a new engine, and take place in a newly created universe. Sounds like it's going to be a long time before it's out, but it seemed like it had some potential to keep the genre going.

"Although BioWare is probably best known for their Dungeons and Dragon's based Baldur's Gate series, Dragon Age isn't another foray into the D&D universe."

I am shocked.

http://pc.ign.com/articles/514/514514p1.html

This article is from 2004.

Zeschuk said they are aiming for an immersive experience that will keep the player in the game for plenty of hours, although maybe not as long as Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate 2. "It may be a bit shorter, but it will be a wider experience and the immersion will be better," he said.

A BIT SHORTER????

I am consulting Wizards of the Coast about this tomorrow.

I've played through Neverwinter Nights twice, I think, and I've played through the expansion packs. It's not really worth it. NWN sucks compared to Baldur's Gate II.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is pretty good, though. You get a real party, and the characters are decent.

It's bad to say something about her looks. It's too much for the classroom. Introducing yourself is just kind of awkward. I think you need to watch your classmates for a little while, and see the kinds of casual comments they make to each other. You want to be like that.

fuck why is introducing yourself bad??? it's not like i plan to ask her on a date or anything, right there. it's just so i could make casual conversation and/or sit next to her during next period.

i have not seen any guys come up to her and use any lines. they dont have the balls. but ive seen guys and girls talking to her about meaningless nerdy stuff. needless to say, she is not dating anybody... and 90% of her friends with whom she goes out are girls, who are not in this class. also i may be confusing the 2 girls.

Anyway, ive been told before that you just need to be confident and just say anything that is not completely retarded. anything beyond that is up to her. whenever girls like you, they find something funny/courageous that they would find awkward/creepy if they did not like you.

Because it's really hard to find the next topic after that. And it's completely unnecessary to introduce yourself before talking to her.

It's true that girls who like you will give you a lot of slack, but you don't know if this one does or not. I'd suggest starting with meaningless nerdy stuff to get a converersation going with her. Then you can use that as a pretext to asking her to coffee, or to study. Do not under any circumstances use lines on her.

i planned to just shake her hand, then may be ask her if she enjoyed the previous set of lectures (cardio lectures). and leave it at that. unless she becomes very talkative and wants me to walk her outside. but then i'd be able to say hello to her at the beginning of the next lecture and talk about this nonsense(and women usually do more talking).

i find that without introduction it would be indeed awkward to seek out 1 girl out of 150 at the end of class and come up with some retarded question like "hey, did you enjoy the cardio lectures"? friends can do this, but not random people.

If she answers your questions with very short answers, if she looks away when she talks to you, if you say several things to her and she has yet to volunteer any information or ask you anything, if she avoids eye contact the next time you see her...

hey when i talk to the girl, must i look her in the eyes? i have a tendency that if i look someone in the eyes and he/she looks back in the eyes, i may start looking at my feet, or if im trying to overcome that, at least at her boobs. this started in 8th grade because black guys called me racist for looking at them, and so perhaps subconciously i think that all people find it creepy if i look them in the eyes.

Yes. Staring at boobs is really bad, and staring at feet creeps people out.

also, im afraid there are 2 hot girls in that class who look very similar. so should i just concentrate on 1 of them, and go for her. or should i try to observe each of them and just go for one who seems to have fewer guys around her at the moment?
