Any other examples in human history of a new weapons technology that not only emerges, but whose manufacture becomes extremely common, and which is never used? Cannot imagine there is. Its possible somewhere in the timeline there have been some exaggerations, maybe not even promoted by governments, but developed in the popular imagination ("a bomb that could make continents uninhabitable"), which governments have let perpetuate.
But I presume we have developed explosives that are much much more powerful than Hiroshima, whatever you want to name them. |
