The important parts are - diagnosing the underlying issues which caused weight gain in the first place - finding a plan that the individual person wants to stick to "Calories In Calories Out" is an oversimplification but it is the Truth also you're correct that the weight loss companies are incentivized to not provide permanent solutions |

People successfully lose weight doing all kinds of random goofy gimmicks. All that matters is caloric deficit. That's what's actually making them lose weight. You just have to Eat Less
But living at a caloric deficit sucks. You feel shitty. That's why people don't do it. Also they like eating. There are lots of people who try Ozempic and then quit because they prefer to eat and be fat than not eat and become skinny even if the drug makes them not feel shitty for being at a caloric deficit |
