All of his lengthy essays about high IQ people getting stuck doing shit work, being bored, being pwned by the system, etc are just a front. He failed to get into a top college, so he rips on Harvard. He failed out of graduate school, so he rips on academia. He failed to excel at his job and was fired, so he rips on structured working professions. You've been shit canned by life pensive, we get it.

College: had a Princeton prof. offer me in, but my campus visit convinced me that I didn't want to go there. I didn't even apply. My Harvard campus visit was also rather apalling, so I told the interviewer that I didn't want to go, and didn't get in because of that. No big deal. It's over now.
I didn't fail out of graduate school, and my decision to leave was essentially independent of the decline of academia. In any case, I knew that academia was declining even as I went into grad school, so to blame anything that happened in graduate school on that would be absurd. It'd be like leaving med school and blaming it on having to dissect cadavers.
My attack on "structured working professions" was 80% schtick and 20% venting. In any case, one of the problems at my last job was a lack of structure, which would've become clear if you had read any of the flame.
