need a decent TV for my living room next year, and I was thinking a good quality/avg price projector or LCD HDTV would be a good investment. Any one have experience or comments?

How much do you care about size, portability, and watching during the day? Projectors can't be watched in light, but they are portable and offer huge pictures. If you mean projection TVs they're a compromise between the two, but even less portable and take up more space than LCDs.

portability is not much of an issue - don't plan on moving it around aside from moving in/out. Size might depend on the living room layout, but whatever i go with will be the most important element of the room so everything else will work around it. not sure I'll be watching it during the day very often, probably be at class or the library, but that's a good point about daylight.

Depending on big you want LCD may impracticable. There are some nice new Panasonic plasmas coming out.
