looking at a 32inch sharp aquos with 1080p....is it worth the extra 3 hundred bucks or so to get a model with 1080p? will it even matter on a tv that small?

the main issue is that I am going to set it up in my bedroom...which is pretty small. anything bigger than 32 inches might overwhelm such a small space

Generally a TV can never be too big, and overwhelming the room is awesome, but then I’m a TV guy, even though hate what’s on I love technology.

Only if it will bother you knowing your not getting the 'best' you can out of your blu-ray. I have a 720p 42" plasma and I'm kind of upset when I finally get a PS3 it technically 'could' look better even though at 42" is pretty indistinguishable

Probably not for movies - but if you hook up your computer to it or plan on playing 1080p video games, then I would say yes. There are some lesser known brands with cheaper 1080p tvs (Sceptre, Westinghouse come to mind)

VGA & DVI are the two standard computer outputs - All computers must have one or the other. If your tv takes only HDMI - you can get a DVI -> HDMI cable (check ebay for cheapest price). My shitty, Syntax tv takes both DVI / VGA - so I'm guessing your plasma does too.

I don't really know. The old one's used to suffer from burn in - but I don't think that is the case any more.

I generally meant as far as resolution/picture quality. My only reason for thinking this was that laptop monitors are LCD, but this might just be a size issue.

Oh - they are similar in quality. I think Plasma may have the edge. Everything 37" or under is LCD (I think it is just much cheaper at those sizes). Also - I believe LCD uses less power.

1080p is supposedly useless unless you have a 46" or bigger, and even if that size only if you sit very close to tv (6-7 feet)...the aquos is great PQ, but lots of problems with banding on random sets..get a samsung instead if you can

i'm going to get a 32 banger for the living room and to take on the road with me since i travel a lot. I want to play my games on a nice tv and not a 20 year old shit box that the hotels use.
