many NYers get by on 50K gross, so why the fuck would $50K after taxes and rent be too little? $4000 a month is more than enough to pay for food, clothes, insurance, and taxis.
Before law school, I took in $4,000 a month after taxes, insurance, and 401K. For $4,000 a month take home I paid for an apt in NYC (with a roommate) and paid for all my incidentals, and even managed to save for some vacations and law school. Trust me, once you are working, you won't know how to spend all your money because you spend all your time either at the office or sleeping. |
