It's a nice place and I had a good time there, but it's not as if it was a vastly better time than nights I've spent at Gansevoort or even lame places like Whiskey Blue. i don't derive my self-esteem from going to these venues. i personally HATE dancing and excessively loud music, so that rules out a lot of nightclubs. i do love plenty of dive bars, sports bars on gamedays, wine bars, and other laid back lounges that are not "exclusive." this whole debate started because insecure posters like jjc and a few others were constantly bashing nyc for being pretentious and having a mediocre nightlife.
