BIGLAW crashed and I'm suicidal. Help.

I don't want to go into too much detail, but I am a T10 student with good grades (B+/A-), great extracurricular activities, and am on Law Review. But I have NO job waiting for me when I graduate.
It isn't a personality issue, either. I worked so hard the last 6 years to get to where I am and my world is collapsing around me. I don't know what to do. I can't believe this happened... it certainly wasn't in the brochure. |

With your grades, school and LR, you could prolly land one if you hustle. As an aside, when will people realize going to a V50 firm instead of a V10 firm won't give you a better QOL. I didn't expect to have a higher QOL because of work, fwiw.
What firms are still hiring? I look every day to try and find something and can't, so if you have any word PLEASE let me know. |

I am near completing my MA in philosophy, with a GPA between 3.7 and 4.0 (leaning more towards 4.0). In addition, my "soft factors," as I think they are called, are quite decent: I have done a lot of internships and community service throughout Africa and France; and I worked as a portraitist and fiction writer for two years after graduating from college and before attending grad school.

Obviously DOJ honors is out of the question, but I've heard there are branch offices of various gov depts. Can also try DAs offices or city gov offices, or academic jobs like helping run a law school's clinical dept or whatever.
This is only a temporary downturn, and with your credentials you know your options will open up once the economy begins to recover. There are plenty of T4 students who should be thinking "killself" right now... but you ain't one of them. |
