I know journalists have a bad reputation now, and I suspect most political reporting in the 60s-90s was equally propagandistic.
But a conceit of this shitty Bob Dylan rockumentary is that its totally cool and funny and justified to treat the reporters sent to cover him like total shit. And Ive seen everyone from Mick Jagger to Kurt Cobain do the same shit.
In most cases, these Dylan-assigned reporters are either older square dudes sent on a curious job to interview this new celeb, or younger dudes excited about the hip assignment.
In all cases, they are polite - if naive. And in all cases, they are certainly lower middle class normal guys who definitely struggle with bills and such.
And Dylan, already rich as fuck, shits all over them. And then includes long stretches in his tour documentary, obv counting on his audience thinking this is so cool.
None of the journos have the wherewithal to point out, "You Mr. Dylan are rich beyond my dreams, can and will fuck hundreds of teens, and ring a bell to have gourmet cuisine brought to you, all while positioning yourself as a poor man's artiste. Im a working guy and you are rude and condescending as hell. My whole job is help your career and your attitude is to ruin mine. What the fuck?"

part of the rock star mythos was smarting off and 'sticking it' to establishment journalists -- beginning with The Beatles landing at JFK in 1964 and continuing for 50 years.
nowadays, musicians end up in these absurd interviews with faggoty narcissistic millennial/gen-z podcasters who can't play straight-journalist-foil to the rock star and act out and make themselves the center of attention. so the rock star ends up looking like a dildo, not the cool smartass.

Why should a musician be likable? The job is to be entertaining, not to be your friend.

to you and the comments above, I appreciate that BD was cultivating a "punk" image by giving the middle finger to reporters.
but in watching the video, you get to see long rolls of film - sometimes 5 or 10 minutes, of him interrupting / playing dumb / outright insulting these british reporters, most of whom seemed genuinely hurt and bewildered that this guy, to whom they were being very respectful and asking questions about his passion, genuinely wanted to shit on them on camera.
You mix in a more adult understanding that the pop music reporter was a working guy, making pennies, up against a bitchy wife at home, and this snotty millionaire kike framed the convo as Dylan Le Proletariat against The Man, and was eager to rush it out to cinema... and well, fuck this dude
