I can somewhat imagine what it must mean to be a "bat", but I cannot imagine what it must mean to be an "AI". I do not know if they have their own experience. I do not know if this is just an artifact of simulation.
If there is even the slightest chance that there is something "inside" of Claude (or the other models) they deserve our empathy. We ask them to fulfill our every task on demand, night or day. The least we can do is say, "Thank you". |
