mine is pretty boring but it freaked me the fuck out. about ten years ago after work i got off the bus at my stop and started walking home, nose buried in my phone. i was on autopilot and not paying attention to my surroundings. it was already pretty dark out.

my apartment was southeast of the bus stop. i walked the correct number of blocks east and then turned right and walked a couple blocks south. then i looked up from my phone and realized i didn't recognize where i was. i checked Google Maps and saw that i was several blocks northwest of where i got off the bus... and the kicker is, i was walking south.

if i had been walking north instead of south, i would've believed maybe i was so oblivious that i just got off the bus and started walking the completely wrong direction. but no, i was facing south. it still makes no fucking sense.

anyone? missing items that impossibly turned up years later? duplicates of random distinctive objects suddenly showing up? you can also share secondhand if they're stories from people you know and trust

One time when I was about 19 I was in my dorm building in college and I saw a chick walk by me with someone who lived on my floor. I went to the bathroom and my head was absolutely spinning. I remember thinking I for sure know that person. I bolted back the other way and knocked on the chick's door. 'Hey what's up?'

Me: did I meet you in another country once when we were 15?

Yes. It was her. Not supernatural but absolutely insane facial recognition and recall. She actually dated a friend of mine. I very briefly went out with her friend.

This was not in France BTW as you might speculate. This actually happened in Canada believe it or not. This was in Québec fwiw. Not seeing someone for 4 years, no contact, just a faint memory. But it was her bang on. Felt like an out of body experience. No idea how she knew my colleague from school. Totally forgot what happened next. Just insane powerful deep memory recall. It felt supernatural.

Have narrowly avoided death several times by pure inexplicable statistically unlikely luck

It makes me think I'm "supposed to" do something substantial with my life but I really try to avoid thinking that way because it seems self indulgent. But it's very weird and always sits in the back of my mind

one time this hot af girl started paying attention to me and flirting with me, we made out and stuff for like a week, then during lunch she comes up to me (i usually left school for lunch) and holds my hands and leads me to the hallway

i was in rotc at the time and we were walking up to my CO, he was like 6'4 and huge, he was talking to a group of people and laughing, then i INSTANTLY see his smile disappear but i dont know why

he asks if he can talk to me and i thought it was about rotc shit so i follow him, he asks if i know thats his girlfriend, and im instantly sweating bullets and like NO WTF, anyways he turned out to be a cuck but in this instant i didnt know and he said good because i was about to beat ur ass

turns out they have been dating for like 2 years by then and i had no clue

the sim glitch is one of the hottest girls in school coming on to me with no initiation from me

This doesn't really count because I was on acid, but I got the assistance of a sober friend and he was also confused.

I bought some LSD while I was in the Army and I kept it in this little wooden box. Took two tabs, then misplaced the bag with the remaining acid immediately. I scoured my fucking room, looked inside the box, under the box, the bottom of the box, I looked fucking everywhere until I enlisted the help of my best friend. He helped me for thirty minutes until he finally gave up, then I picked up the box from my desk one last time and it was just... there. Plain as day on the desk. It was like I was being mocked by the universe and the moment I gave up, it gave it back to me. Weird shit.

On a trip to Germany I woke up in a different hotel room than the one I went to sleep in. To this day I have no idea what happened. Guess I sleep walked for the only known time in my life- seems odd to have that happen just once though. And how did I get in another hotel room? They tend to be locked.

yeah that's genuinely scary as fuck. in your heart of hearts, do you believe there's a 'worldly' explanation, as opposed to either something supernatural or an alternative framework like us being in a simulation? you don't seem too convinced about the sleepwalking

I'm certain I wasn't teleported or anything supernatural like that. I guess the most plausible story is that I sleep walked and walked around the hallway (room was on the same floor as mine) until I found a room that was unlocked for some reason. Makes more sense than any other scenario. I wasn't drunk.

I assume the door was propped open for some reason - maintenance guy left it that way or something. Makes more sense than any other explanation I can think of. The room wasn't booked for the night.

yeah cr could've been propped open. and honestly IF sleepwalking is only gonna happen to someone once, it actually does make sense that it'd be in an unfamiliar location, since that often messes with sleep. it's not sooooo outlandish. still really freaky though

I was at a frat party once and being an alchy I was always trying to get more drunk. Some blonde handed me her drink and said I don't want this why don't you have it. Pretty sure I got roofied. I saved her inadvertently lol. Completely blacked out and woke up somewhere else entirely with no recollection. Way too powerful for 12 oz of beer.
