We're heading to a double wildcard primary where it's wide open for the first time since 2016 and nobody knows what's going to happen. I'm not sure where you're getting that they're burned out and don't trust the establishment. Like, sure, they can dunk on the establishment for not doing anything progressive. But when it comes down to brass tacks they will support the Dem candidate, especially if it's someone who they helped get elected by their own influence.

they're burnt out not only on the establishment but politics in general. have you ever seen a DSA meeting? it's intolerable. then you have the neolibs which are essentially bigger enemies to them than the current right wing. hence why so many have gone right.

I think the most likely outcome is that someone emerges from one or both parties who is the embodiment of some form of Hope and Change. You always get people who run as transformational candidates before the ruling class of our decaying empire takes root and they win and then they sell the people down the river.

I think you underestimate how much good will there is on the left. The Coconut Pill was a big unifying moment for left wing America. Dems everywhere feel a clawing since of desperation that at the first sight of the New Savior they will all cream themselves. The hype train will be in full swing.
