if ur intelligent and have access to a decent education you spend ur childhood rooting like a pig in all the sweet treats of scholarship the arts and sciences have to offer until it all ends abruptly on one single day for you to become a retarded office-bound excel monkey for the rest of ur life. lmao.

I know an adjunct instructor who spent nine years trying to get a position at a local TTT. He ended up at a community college, not flame.

might be even more tragic than professional life? otoh you get to educate the youth, and occasionally pursue scholarship. but for low wages & petty office politics

I've been working on a paper in the discipline I studied in UG and I'm planning to submit it for publication when I finish. It's been really rewarding thinking about these sweet scholarly problems again. I was working on it for hours every day for a couple weeks, including during my workday, but I burned out before I finished. Now that I'm FUNEMPLOYED I hope to finish the draft before I go back to work.
