I guess bands just 'tour' infinitely now that there is effectively no record industry. |

Blink 182 made $150 mm in their last tour. Meanwhile New Found Glory and Modest Mouse are competing with cover bands to fill up a House of Blues and probably make $10,000.
98 Degrees and OTown probably can't make a main stage at a state fair, but Backstreet Boys are making $5 mm a night at the Sphere.
Just being that one tier below the huge acts mean you make like 1/100th when you're touring in your 40s and 50s. |
