And it isn't only the actual puzzles, but the inventory and ammo management, knowing the most efficient path to your objective, knowing when some item or object or text is significant and offers a clue to an impending encounter. you are like a detective rather than just a generic sword-swinging murder hobo.
also, the atmosphere is half the appeal. if you aren't soaking in those gorgeous pre-rendered corridors of Ruin then wtf are you even doing. |

MGS is the only 3D game that doesn’t make you fuck with the camera that doesn’t have tank controls WITHOUT resorting to being a scumshit FPS.
