They put all that video game energy into building these naval cannons that could shred whitey's ship's fast. Nothing else mattered when Japan had these cannons with that range. They could shoot fast because they had high morale

Munitions: The "Shimose" Secret• High Explosive: The IJN utilized Shimose powder (a form of lyddite), a high-explosive filling for their shells.• Effect: While the British knew about lyddite, the specific Japanese formulation was incredibly sensitive and violent. Upon impact, it didn't just penetrate armor; it detonated, spraying shrapnel and fire into wooden decks and internal compartments.• Tactical Surprise: Russian ships were not designed to withstand high-explosive fire; they expected armor-piercing shells. The Shimose powder caused catastrophic fires that the Russians were ill-equipped to fight, leading to a "burning fleet" scenario.

Morale: Morale was fanatical. The fleet was fighting for national survival. The concept of Gunkan-bujutsu (naval martial arts) was prevalent.

Intelligence: The Japanese knew the Russian route, the speed of their ships, and their fuel status. They knew the Russians would arrive exhausted.

"Range is good."

"The danger to the cavalry..."

"Is acceptable. Agreed?"
