There's a law that says basically if your song is in some sort of shuffle queue it's not the same as if the listener specifically requested that song, so the royalties are extremely minimal. Spotify pays way more than Pandora, and obviously terrestrial radio pays 50x more than Spotify. All top 40 artists get a bigger check from the radio than from streaming or shuffling. But yeah Pandora is going to be the worst. You have to do it anyway as part of your business model because hype and fame is what leads to revenue. You essentially need to get your music to as many people as possible even if it's for free so you can sell them tickets and merch. This guy should quit whining and go on tour. If you don't like SP, you don't like 90s rock. I would even say Pearl Jam is likely in this category too but they're more polarizing because they were more of a pop sound.
