for me it was this holding cell where they might put 20-30 doods for the day. That cell had a toilet, but it was in the center of this open room. It was the opposite of private. Whoever was sitting on the toilet at any moment in time was center of attention.
Since there were up to 30 people in this cell at any given time, the toilet was always going to be occupied by someone. The moment it got flushed, another inmate would immediately sit on it and begin shitting or acting like they were shitting.
this was all performative. the inmates were each trying to be as disruptive as possible, especially if someone in a uniform or suit came around, like a lawyer. if a lawyer was there talking to the client, the toilet would get flushed a LOT and people would drop their stinkiest logs while the lawyer and client were talking. When they'd flush it they'd go "aw man!" and act like they were offended by the smell of their own shit
