I wonder what they're going to invest their gains in. Transitioning the U.S. to a system where the central bank is under direct control of the executive will have major ramifications, and it's hard to see that it will be "good" for America and Americans really ever.

They can’t “transition” to that. There’s no “cause” to fire Powell, and even if he were removed as chair he’d stay on as governor until 2028 and he and the other board members would keep voting how they vote.

That's where you're wrong. If Trump fires Powell and removes him as governor, SCOTUS will 100% back him. No question about it. If Trump wants to take control of the Fed, that's in his power.
