in the 80s/90s/2000s, it must have felt like 'nobody will ever know about this. how could they find out?'
women didn't talk as much back then, the press quashed stories about sex (Cosby's accusers were stonewalled by media for decades), it was easy to kill investigations (Epstein's original deal in Fla), &c.
then the situation changed gradually. |
