powergoy previous owner left a simplisafe system in place. there's these sensors on every door already. we'd have to buy a (((subscription))) to keep it up. is this shit useful or flame?

Pretty much all of the cybernetic home surveillance stuff is extremely sick and a sign that this society is crumbling in on its own separatist paranoia

i personally don't think home security systems are really needed, but sometimes you get an insurance discount that covers it and/or if you travel a lot and want to be able to view cameras, etc. when you're away i could see value in that.

all the simplisafe shit is installed w/ 2 sided sticky tape, super easy to remove.

our insurance discount would cover $231/yr. simplisafe w monitoring is 99 cents a day which i take is $365 a year. most of the equipment is there's not too much more of a startup cost.

An actual home surveillance system is only good for hopefully catching the bad guys after they rob you or rape & murder your wife. Credible and prominent dummy cameras fulfill the deterrence role.

Edit for RT: The ones around my property are real though, and transmit both the video and the audio to a cloud storage system that is also accessible by HPD.
